About Us

Lights to Flag is an independent media outlet, covering anything and everything that we can connected to the hobby of racing and driving games.

If you’re anything like us then, as a driving game hobbyist, you’ll have models of cars, books about cars, enjoy driving your car (even if it’s relatively ordinary), read news about cars, watch and listen to all kinds of motorsport including e-motorsport, watch films about cars, and if you’re really lucky have a nice space in your home for driving games.

That’s pretty much what we’re aiming to cover, and as far as we’re aware there isn’t a general, all-purpose car enthusiast media outlet for driving game fans of any kind around. We read a lot of them too, and nothing really does what we’re aiming for here. In brief our remit is car stuff for driving game fans, covering in approximate order of focus:

  • Driving/Racing Games
  • Gaming Equipment/Peripherals
  • Car News/Culture
  • Motorsport/eMotorsport
  • Models, Toys, & Games
  • Movies & Television

At the moment this site is a one-person show, set up, created, and exclusively written by a single automotive and gaming writer with well over a decade’s worth of experience of writing, editing, reviewing, product-testing, and interviewing in both fields.

However we’re open to contributions from external writers under the caveat that, as this is not really a commercial concern right now, it would be voluntary. Asking people to write for free is rubbish, so if and when it becomes viable to offer paid contributions we’ll absolutely change that.

We’ll never produce content that is written by, nor use any imagery or video produced by, Generative AI. Everything on Lights to Flag is, and will be, human-sourced and probably include human errors, but hopefully not many.

As we begin life, most of the content will be right here on the site, but we do have plans for some video and audio content (not least of which to assist sight-impaired enthusiasts) and we’ll hold a small, tentative social media presence even though social media is awful. You can find relevant links in the site footer.

If there’s anything you think we’re not covering, any corrections or changes you think ought to be made, or you have any other things you want to tell us (so long as they are not about how terrible we are), please do use our contact form which is also available in the site footer. Most of all, please enjoy what we have to offer.
